Overview

Experience enhanced navigation and a simplified user flow with HawkSearch's latest update - a dedicated section solely for Instant Engage. Previously a part of Autocomplete, Instant Engage now has its own space, making it more accessible and user friendly!

When the user clicks into the search bar, before typing anything, you have the option to display recommended products and categories:

1. Trending Products
   These recommended products are driven by Trending Items Recommendations strategy and you must have Recommendations module enabled in order to use this feature. This is configured within the Top Product Matches section.
2. Trending Facets/Categories
   Trending Facets are driven by the most popular categories/facet selections that your site visitors have recently clicked on. This is configured within the Top Facets section.
3. Tredning Keywords
   Trending Keywords are based on the most popular search terms your site visitors have recently used. This is configured within the Trending Keywords section.

Instant Engage Configuration Page

1. To navigate to the Instant Engage Configuration section, click on the "Workbench" tab in the top navigation.
2. Next, select "Keyword Search" from the left navigation.
3. From the list of subcategories, select "Instant Engage”
4. The Trending Categories and Facets section indicates
   1. If it is enabled
   2. The character limit before it is disabled
      To modify the configuration of the Trending Categories and Facets, click on the Edit button
5. The Trending Products section indicates
   1. If it is enabled
   2. The character limit before it is disabled
   3. Days of data used
      To modify the configuration of the Trending Products, click on the Edit button
6. The Trending Keywords section indicates
   1. If it is enabled
   2. The character limit before it is disabled
   3. Days of data used
      To modify the configuration of the Trending Keywords, click on the Edit button
7. If you need to modify the Layout or Label properties, click on the Layout tab. This includes updating the labels that can be displayed to users.

Trending Categories and Facets

1. To enable Trending Categories and Facets, turn on Enable Trending Categories.
2. Set the number of characters at which you want the trending categories to stop being suggested. You can specify up to 3.
3. Make sure to click “Save” after setting up the configuration.

Trending Products

1. To enable Trending Products, turn on Enable Trending Items.
2. Set the number of characters at which you want the trending categories to stop being suggested. You can specify up to 3.
3. Select the time period that should be used when determining the Trending Products.
4. Make sure to click “Save” after setting up the configuration.

Trending Keywords

1. To enable Trending Keywords, turn on Enable Trending Keywords.
2. Set the number of characters at which you want the trending categories to stop being suggested. You can specify up to 3.
3. Select the minimum number of searches required for a keyword to be considered a Trending Keyword.
4. Select the time period that should be used when determining the Trending Keywords.
5. Make sure to click “Save” after setting up the configuration.

1. If there are redirect rules set up for the trending keywords returned in Instant Engage, those rules will also be applied. To add or update the redirect rules, please refer to this article.
2. The "Exclude Terms in Autocomplete" setting also applies to Instant Engage Trending Keywords. To add or update the exclude terms, please refer to this article.
