How to specify triggers based on sorting sets/sorting options?

This feature is enabled only for clients that have Sorting/Pagination module. Additional programming might be needed to enable sorting set trigger option. Please reach out to our Client Success Directors if you are interested in enabling this feature.

This functionality allows trigger merchandising rules based on a specific sorting set. If you want to boost items or hide items when your customers select a specific sorting option, we have added the ability to specify triggers based on sorting options for the following tools:

• Visibility Rules
• Boost Rules
• Campaigns

In the rule builder we now have a trigger that would ask to specify criteria based on sorting set and then a second dropdown would pop up that would basically have options to select the specific sorting option as shown in the screenshots that follow.
To start using this option please add a new/edit existing rule, scroll down to the Display Trigger section and set the following parameters:

1 – Choose Sorting Set Field as a value for the first condition and select is or is not as an operator
2 – Under this drop-down menu you will find all sorting sets you currently have set up under Sorting/Pagination area of the Workbench. Select a sorting set that should trigger this Campaign
3 – Choose a sorting set value that you’d like to use as a merchandising rule trigger

Clients leveraging Hawksearch v4.0 can use sorting set trigger for Pinning as well. You can pin certain items to the top of the page and this item sorting will only apply when a specific sorting set and sorting set option are selected by the user:
