Configurable Top-Level Hierarchy for Facets

Overview

This feature allows users to specify which level of a nested hierarchy should be displayed as the parent (top level) for hierarchical facets. By providing this configuration in the HawkSearch Workbench, users gain better control over data display without requiring customizations specific to individual account.

Steps to Configure the Hierarchy Level for Nested Facets

This configuration is specifically designed for nested facets. Ensure that the facet you want to configure is properly indexed as a nested hierarchy before proceeding.

  1. Index the Nested Facet: Ensure the hierarchical nested facet is properly indexed in the system before proceeding with configuration.

  2. Access Facet Configuration: Navigate to the Facet Administration section in the Workbench.

  3. Select the Nested Facet with a Hierarchy: Choose the specific nested facet you want to configure from the list of available facets.

  4. Configure the Hierarchy Level

    1. Use the dropdown selector labeled “Parent/Top Level of Hierarchy” to choose the desired top level of the hierarchy.
    2. The exact levels available depend on the data structure in the indexed nested facet.
  5. Save the Change: Click the Save button to apply the configuration.

  6. Apply the Change

    1. There is no need to rebuild the index after making this configuration.
    2. The changes will take effect once the cache expires.
