AI Advisor

AI Advisor turns your search data into a nightly to-do list. Every night, right after your data finishes processing, it reviews your account's own search and sales activity and writes up to a few short, specific suggestions — the kind of thing a search consultant would flag if they looked at your data every morning.

Navigation

AI Advisor appears in the left-hand menu under Reporting Tools, alongside Advanced Analytics, Report Builder, and Classic Reports.

How It Works

Each suggestion is grounded in your own account's data — never a generic tip shared across every HawkSearch account.

  • Organized by signal — Suggestions are grouped by the kind of data behind them. Searches, Poor Results, and Spelling are included for every account. Facets, Landing Pages, Redirects, Sorting, Recommendation Widgets, Banners & Campaigns, Product Visibility, and Visitor Targeting are separate add-on signals. Filter the list to a single signal, or leave it on All categories to see everything you're subscribed to.
  • Aware of what you've already set up — Suggestions take your existing synonyms and other merchandising configuration into account, so a suggestion builds on what's already in place instead of proposing something you've already done.
  • Scoped to the engine you're viewing — Accounts with more than one HawkSearch engine get their own separate suggestions per engine, matching whichever one is selected in the dashboard.
  • Nothing forced on quiet nights — Not every night produces a new suggestion for every signal. When there's nothing worth flagging, the list shows a plain "no new suggestions" entry with an expandable Why? explaining what was reviewed, instead of padding the list with filler.
  • Filter to what matters — Turn on Show only actionable insights to hide quiet nights and see just the ones with a real suggestion.

Rating Suggestions

Mark a suggestion Helpful or Not helpful, or Dismiss it once you've acted on it.

Suggestions your team rates Helpful shape the style and substance of future suggestions for your account — no setup or configuration needed on your end. The more your team rates, the more AI Advisor's suggestions adapt to what your team actually finds useful.

How It Keeps Getting Smarter

AI Advisor isn't a fixed script — it's designed to keep improving on its own as your team uses it, without ever retraining or replacing the underlying AI model.

  1. Every Helpful or Not helpful rating your team gives is saved.
  2. Once a week, a separate process reviews everything rated since the last run and searches for a better version of the instructions AI Advisor uses to write suggestions.
  3. That new version is only adopted if it scores at least as well as what's currently live, tested against your account's own real feedback history.
  4. If it does, it goes live for future suggestions. If not, nothing changes.

Because only the instructions AI Advisor is given ever change — never the underlying AI model itself — this improvement can happen continuously and safely, with nothing for your team to configure. A quiet week of ratings, or a handful of mixed feedback, can never make suggestions worse.

Getting Started

Searches, Poor Results, and Spelling are included for every account with AI Advisor turned on. The rest of the signals — Facets, Landing Pages, Redirects, Sorting, Recommendation Widgets, Banners & Campaigns, Product Visibility, and Visitor Targeting — are add-on signals your Customer Success Director can turn on individually.

FAQ

How often are suggestions generated?
Once a night, right after your data finishes processing. Suggestions always reflect yesterday's full day of data, since today hasn't finished processing yet.

What if there's nothing to suggest some nights?
That's expected — not every night has something worth flagging for every signal. Those nights show a "no new suggestions" entry instead of a forced suggestion; expand Why? to see what was reviewed.

Does rating a suggestion Helpful actually do anything?
Yes. Suggestions your team rates Helpful are used as style and substance examples for future suggestions, so what you see keeps adapting to what your team finds useful.

Can I get rid of a suggestion once I've acted on it?
Yes — Dismiss removes it from the list. It won't come back, and it won't be suggested again.

Do I need to set anything up per engine?
No. If your account has more than one HawkSearch engine, each one gets its own suggestions automatically — just switch engines (or select a group, if your account has Groups configured) in the dashboard to see that scope's list.

What's the difference between a signal and an action?
A signal is the kind of data a suggestion is about — Searches, Poor Results, Spelling, or one of the add-on signals like Facets or Landing Pages. That's what your account is (or isn't) subscribed to, and what the category filter lets you pick. The specific fix a suggestion proposes — a synonym, a spelling correction, a redirect, and so on — can vary within any signal; it's not separately gated.

Can I get suggestions for a signal I'm not subscribed to?
Not yet. Filtering to that signal shows what it covers and a prompt to contact your CSD instead of any suggestions. Once it's turned on for your account, it starts showing up the same as any other signal.
