January 2026
This release focuses on making search and merchandising behavior more consistent and predictable, while also improving Advanced Preview usability, indexing reliability (including nested fields), and a few key dashboard + API quality-of-life updates. These changes are designed to reduce edge-case failures, improve transparency while tuning, and keep your environments running smoothly.
Release Highlights
- Advanced Preview improvements – Multiple updates to make Preview easier to use and interpret, including design refinements, better handling of long text, more intuitive defaults (like merchandising enabled), and improved results/count behavior when switching tabs.
- Better transparency for tuning – Improvements to boost visibility and explain behavior so you can validate relevance changes more confidently during analysis.
- Tracking & Recommendations API enhancement – Added support for passing ClientGuid via HTTP header, improving compatibility across integrations and services.
- Visual Search mobile UX update – Mobile users can now upload images directly from their photo library, improving the Visual & Image Search workflow.
- Support Portal access update – Navigation updates to the new Support Portal within the HawkSearch product experience.
- Dashboard account usability – Added support for password reset functionality.
Stability and Performance Updates
We also shipped a set of backend and platform hardening updates aimed at reducing errors and improving reliability:
- Indexing reliability improvements – Addressed a failure scenario that could bring down the Indexing API, plus additional safeguards around indexing edge cases.
- Nested-field indexing updates – Expanded support for nested-field updates (including removal scenarios) and bulk nested attribute cleanup.
- Improved handling of special characters – Fixed an encoding issue that could cause indexing problems when field values contain special characters (like &).
- Indexing visibility fixes – Corrected issues where indexing summaries could show incorrect “last indexed” timing.
- Landing page + rule consistency fixes – Resolved multiple rule/operator behaviors that could cause unexpected landing page results and mismatches (including “empty” handling and operator logic alignment).
- Facet/result consistency – Fixed cases where facet counts did not match the result set users received.
- Reporting/scheduling reliability – Addressed notification report scheduling issues to improve consistency.
- Performance safeguards – Avoided unnecessary calls in scenarios where inputs are empty, and continued improvements to OpenSearch indexing batch operations.
